JAMMU, Oct 8: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation under the leadership of its president Sushil Sudan (also a member of the Pharmacy Council of India), projected the burning issues of Healthcare employees, in a press conference held, here today.
Addressing media persons, Sushil Sudan said that though the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting was conducted three months ago, yet the list for promotions has not been published till date. He urged the authorities to promptly release the promotion list.
Sudan also raised the long-standing issue of delayed salaries for female multipurpose health workers. He said the issue remains unresolved for several months despite repeated representations, and appealed the Government to address the matter urgently and permanently. Click here to watch video
He said the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) recently gathered data for the relocation of employees who have completed five years of service at a particular location, and requested the Government to consider the special circumstances of terminally ill employees and those nearing superannuation when making such reassignments.
Stating that the General Provident Fund (GP Fund) is a crucial savings avenue for employees, Sudan said it is imperative that the final GP Fund payment be disbursed within 15 days after an employee’s superannuation.
The JKMEF president also strongly advocate for the appointment of a permanent director within the Health Department while stating that an incharge director has proven ineffective in efficiently managing the department, leading to both public and employee dissatisfaction.
