BLSP organizes grand cultural program ‘Bharat Ke Rang Ekal Ke Sang’

JAMMU, Oct 8: Under its Ekal campaign, Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad (BLSP) Jammu chapter organized a grand cultural program at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, here today.
The programme was inaugurated by senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana by lighting the traditional lamp. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria, former Jammu Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and Deep Kumar (key speaker and Central Co-Campaign Head of Ekal Abhiyan).
The program was started with Ganesh Vandana and it was followed by presentation of patriotic songs, dance on folk songs of different states and finally a very beautiful Shri Krishna Dance Drama artists coming from remote rural and tribal areas of different provinces of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Deep Kumar said that Ekal Vidyalaya is being run in more than one lakh forest dwelling villages through Ekal Abhiyan across the country. He told that this campaign, which started from 60 villages in the year 1989, has today spread to one lakh villages, 35 hundred tehsils, 350 districts and 24 provinces across India. “One lakh teachers, 7 thousand full-time service workers, 2000 Vyas storytellers along with crores of committee members are working with this campaign,” he added.
Devender Singh Rana, while addressing the gathering, said that Ekal Abhiyan Nishit is awakening the spirit of education among the children of forest dwellers and rural areas across the country. Praising the Ekal Abhiyan, he said that from today onwards he will also play a leading role in serving the society by becoming a worker of the Ekal Abhiyan.
Earlier, Jammu chapter general secretary of Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad, Hardeep Aggarwal presented welcome address. Patron of Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad Jammu chapter, Mahant Rameshwar Das, Swami Divyanand Saraswati, president of Jammu chapter Rahul Bansal, Advisors of Jammu chapter –Chandra Mohan, Hardeep Aggarwal and Vijay Pandoh were present in the program.
Hundreds of people from Pathankot city and surrounding villages were present in the program, which concluded with vote of thanks presented by Women’s Committee vice president Sunita Sarin.
