JAMMU, Oct 8: Pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi shrine will have to pay more for availing chopper service between Katra and Sanjhi Chhat from tomorrow.
The aviation company, which has secured the contract for the next three years, is learnt to have quoted Rs 2100 per person as the air fare for one way and Rs 4200 per person for the both sides.
Earlier, the one way ticket between Katra and Sanjhi Chhat was Rs 1820 per person only and Rs 3640 for up and down. Thus, there will be more than 20 percent increase in the air fare for the chopper service from tomorrow.
According to the sources, there is some confusion over the amount of GST to be charged on the chopper ticket. As per the GST Council, 18 percent GST is required to be charged on the chopper fare whereas the aviation company has made it clear that its quoted rate (Rs 2100) includes only 5 percent GST. In that case, extra 12 percent GST will be added to Rs 2100.
