KATRA, Jan 8: A youth was arrested in the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine here for impersonating as Brigadier of Border Security Force (BSF).
As per police sources, Aman Kumar, son of Munish Kumar of Palane, district Bhagpat, Uttar Pradesh, approached a BSF unit at Katra, introduced himself as Brigadier and sought a VIP pass to visit the cave shrine.
On being asked for identity card, the accused produced it, which was found fake on verification.
BSF personnel arrested the youth and later handed him over to Katra police for further action.
A case under FIR number 6/14 under Section 170, 171, 468 and 471 RPC has been registered at Katra Police Station and a probe is on. Nothing incriminating has been recovered from his possession.
During preliminary inquiry, Kumar revealed his family was upset with him as he was unemployed.
