State Govt employees staging protest dharna near Press Club in Jammu on Wednesday. -Excelsior/ Rakesh

JAMMU, Jan 8: The State Government employees under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee staged protest dharna at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today.
A large number of employees led by senior JCC members Ashraf Bhat, Ganesh Khajuria, Qayoom Wani, Amrik Singh, Devinder Singh and others under the banner of JCC assembled at Press Club and held protest demonstration against the State Government. They were raising slogans in support of their demands.
They demanded withdrawal of ESMO imposed on the employees and several leaders and roll back on decision regarding the policy of no work no wages. Several employees leaders also addressed the gathering and alleged that Government has failed to implement agreement reached between JCC leadership and the State Government.
Mr Wani strongly condemned the Government for slapping ESMO on the employees and termed it as undemocratic act on the part of Government. He said unless Government fulfills is promises, the employees would continue their protest demonstrations and agitation. Wani said instead of solving employees’ issues, the Government was resorting to repressive means.
The JCC leaders declared that employees would take out Mashal rally and hold protest demonstration outside the residence of Chief Minister here on January 15 if the Government failed to withdraw ESMO slapped on many employees. They demanded that Chief Minister should intervene personally to resolve the pending issues of the employees.
Senior members Kulwant Singh, Devanand Gill, Fayaz Shabnam, N S Jamwal, Haji Bashir Ahmed, G M Hamdard, Ravi Singh Bhau and others also addressed gathering.
