SLDC wing hurdle in regular power supply to industries: BBIA

JAMMU, Oct 11: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has alleged that SLDC wing of the Power Development Department (PDD) was creating hurdlers in providing uninterrupted supply of electricity to the Industry.
An urgent meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association was held today under the leadership of Lalit Mahajan (president) in presence of Tarun Singla- senior vice president, Ajay Langer -vice president, Viraaj Malhotra- general secretary, Rajesh Jain- secretary and Vivek Singhal- treasurer BBIA and other members to discuss the issue regarding the unscheduled power cuts imposed by SLDC wing of the PDD.
BBIA president appreciated the directions given by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to the officials of PDD for the supply of maximum power supply to Smart Meter saturated feeders and bring down the AT&C losses of these areas to single digit.
The members during meeting draw the attention of Lt Governor that the Industrial units of Bari Brahmana Industrial areas suffering very badly due to unscheduled power cuts imposed by SLDC wing during day and night resulting huge production as well as financial losses to the Industrial units working in Industrial hub of Bari Brahmana in spite of the fact that Department is collecting Rs 175 crores annual revenues from the Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex and the Transmission losses reported here is in single digit of 6 to 8%.
It is pertinent to mention here that the M&RE /System Operation and Grid Construction Wings of the JPDCL is trying their best to supply the uninterrupted power supply to Industrial sector of Jammu but due to negative attitude of the SLDC Wing, the supply always disconnected without any intimation to concerned wings for the reason best known to the concerned officials of the SLDC resulting huge financial losses to the Industrial Units.
BBIA has appealed to the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, H. Rajesh Prasad, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department and Shiv Anant Tayal, Managing Director, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. to intervene into the matter to ensure regular / uninterrupted power supply to Industrial units.
