Mayor continues campaign against corruption, addresses students, senior citizens

JAMMU, Oct 11: In continuation of campaign to make J&K corruption free, Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma today took the campaign to Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Eidgah Road Jammu, Golden Age Society Roopnagar and Mohalla Welfare Association, Bahu Fort.
On the occasion, he administered oath to the students and people not to support corruption in public life, not to support casteism and refrain from electing public representatives on the basis of caste but choose educated and honest people to representative bodies.
During his interaction with students the Mayor also urged them to work for making Jammu polythene free and make their surroundings neat and clean.
In his address to the senior citizens at Roop Nagar a solemn pledge was taken to make the society corruption free and it was also decided to take this message to every nook and corner and ten member ward committees will be constituted in this regard who will render their selfless services to the society by way of campaigning and holding camps in each and every ward of Jammu.
Mayor said the senior citizens being highly experience and intellectuals of the society can deliver the message of corruption free society and can accomplish the mission to fulfill the aspirations of the people as this is the only way to make society and J&K as Immandar Jammu and Shandar Jammu, he added.
During his visit to Bahu Fort, Jammu the Mayor addressed the Mohalla Welfare Association office bearers and local people in the area and sought their support and cooperation in the ongoing campaign. All the participants were asked to join the hands for this noble cause to make the society corruption free.
The Mayor was also accompanied by the councilors of Ward 47, Sharda Kumari and Ward No 48, Sham Lal Bhasan. All the participants and the councilors lauded the efforts made by Mayor, Jammu for initiating the campaign which was first of its kind in J&K for making general masses aware about the eradication of corruption from the public life.
The Mayor said the main motto behind the campaign is to spread the message among the masses and to bring a change in the age old mindset to eradicate the root cause of corruption from the society.
