BHADERWAH, Oct 12: To lodge their protest against the Government for not fulfilling their demands, retired Anganwadi workers and helpers staged a protest here today.
The protest was held under the banner of Retired Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association (RAWHA) Bhaderwah.

Speaking on the occasion, President, RAWHA, Saleema Akhter said that there was no retirement policy or process of ICDS workers till 2022, but suddenly we were retired by the government without providing any benefit.
She said that we worked with full dedication since 1980 and Government should provide us retirement benefits including gratuity of Rs 4 lakh per worker/helper and monthly pension.
“After serving the department for 45 years, we were retired empty hands without providing any retirement benefit, which is discrimination with all of us,” Akhter added, saying that government should consider our services and provide us our right.
Among others who participated in protest included Sheela Devi, Bholi Devi, Parveen Akhter, Shahida Begum, Nayeema Begum, Razia Begum, Ram Pyari, Vakeela Devi and others.
