IndusInd Bank offers to fund dev projects in UT

LEH, Oct 12: Two delegations called on Lieutenant Governor Ladakh, Brig (Retired) BD Mishra, here at Raj Niwas today.
A delegation of Special Frontier Force (SFF) Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association headed by Naib-Subedar Tsultrim Gyatso (Retd), along with Director of the Sainik Welfare Board, Col Lobzang Nima (Retd), and Chief Representative Officer (CRO) of Sonamling Settlement, Dhondup Tashi, highlighted the crucial role played by the SFF, established in 1962, in various operations safeguarding India’s border areas.
Tsultrim Gyatso emphasized that the SFF operates without a source of income or funds and requested financial assistance from the UT administration for the construction of a committee hall, a kitchen and an office on land allocated at Agling.
In response, the Lieutenant Governor assured the delegates that he would instruct the Advisor to the LG to investigate the matter and take necessary action to support the SFF’s infrastructure needs.
Another delegation from IndusInd Bank, led by its Zonal Head, Naresh Arora, shared insightful information about IndusInd Bank, highlighting its extensive presence with more than 2000 branches across 33 states/Union Territories in India, including two branches in Leh and Kargil.
Naresh Arora put forth a proposal to fund developmental projects in Ladakh through the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, with a focus on enhancing the well-being of the local population.
He also expressed the bank’s willingness to support students from the University of Ladakh (UoL) by offering training and placement opportunities in relevant fields.
The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh commended IndusInd Bank for its exceptional service and reaffirmed the UT Administration’s commitment to the welfare of the Ladakhi people.
He expressed that IndusInd Bank’s CSR activities could significantly contribute to the development of Ladakh, benefiting its residents and students alike.
