Dimple holds protest against PDD

JAMMU, Oct 12: Against unscheduled power cuts by PDD Department, a protest march was organised by Sunil Dimple, President, Mission Statehood (MS) here today.
The protest was held against unscheduled power cuts and huge power bills send by the PDD Department to the consumers.
Addressing the protestors Sunil Dimple alleged that even after the installation of the four lakh smart meters the department is cutting the power supply for hours but there is no reduction in the amount of power bills.
He said when the department daily announces the schedules of power cuts then what need for the long and unscheduled power cuts is, due to long power cuts the commercial business, industries, showrooms, factories work is suffering.
Despite the installation of smart meters, people are getting big amount bills, but facing long duration curtailment and all business, online work, domestic and provision stores work has badly affected.
He further urged upon the LG Sinha for providing round the clock power supply in the area, where new smart meters has been installed by the department.
Among other who were present during the protest included Vijay Sharma, Veena Devi, Rekha Kumari, Koushlya, Rano Devi, Geeta Rani, Sudershan Sharma, Vicky Gupta, Devraj, Rakesh Sharma and Mukesh Gupta.
