Burglars strike in day light; decamp with gold, cash

KATHUA, Oct 13: The panic gripped in Ward No 18 of Kathua as the burglars strike in broad day light today and decamped with Golden ornaments and cash from a residential house.
As per reports, the burglars strike in Ward 18 and decamped with eleven tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 5000 cash from a residential house of Subash Chander in the area.
Both Subash Chander and his wife are Government employees and were on duty and their children were in school.
On their return to home at 3pm they found the lock of house broken, admirals found open and all items were scattered here and there. After physical verification, Subash Chander found the Gold ornaments valuing nearly from Rs six to seven lakh and cash of Rs 5000 missing. A police team led by SHO, Kathua, Sudhir Sadotra reached on the spot for investigation. The police collected evidence from crime scene. A case in this connection was registered at Police Station (PS), Kathua.
The residents showed serious concern over the day light burglaries in the city and said that their property is not safe even in day time. They demanded strict police vigil in the area and arrest of burglars. They said the drug addicts are also involved in theft cases and the police should investigate the matter fully.
