KISHTWAR, Oct 14: In a significant stride towards ensuring equitable access to electricity, the District Administration Kishtwar under the guidance of District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav has successfully brought power facilities to the remote Sumchag village of Paddar Subdivision which is near to Kargil border and adjacent to famous Paddar Sapphire Mine.
At an altitude of 3250 meters from Mean Sea Level (MSL), Sumchag habitation, a part of Losaini village, has received a transformative intervention with the provision and installation of 14 solar power packs. These solar power packs provided under Untied Funds of District Development Commissioner Kishtwar have been strategically distributed to all households in Sumchag, catering to the 100% Buddhist population residing in this high-altitude habitation.
The initiative aims to enhance lighting and ensure power availability during the challenging winter months.
Upon the project’s completion, these habitations, will have grid connectivity, providing a significant boost to the overall development and well-being of these communities. Sumchag, however, stands uniquely illuminated with solar power packs, symbolizing a sustainable and innovative approach to electrification in challenging terrains.
