JAMMU, Oct 15: Two persons were arrested along with 5.2 grams of heroin and sharp-edged weapons from RS Pura Area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a vehicle, which was on its way from Tohana Tibba towards Satraiyan in RS Pura Area, was stopped for checking at a naka near Shamshat Ghat, Satraiyan.
During search of the vehicle, he said, two persons, identified as Deepak Gupta and Rakesh Gupta of RS Pura were caught with 5.2 grams of heroin and two sharp-edged weapons.
The accused have been booked in case FIR number 153/2023 under sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act, and 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up, said the police spokesperson.
Pertinently, the search and seizure operation was led by a team of Police Station RS Pura led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and assisted by SHO RS Pura, Inspector Pawan Kumar and PSI Aziz Tariq.
