BJP Govt stopped pensions of widows, others: Dwarka

JAMMU, Oct 15: Senior Congress leader and Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dwarka Choudhary of Ward number 46 here today held a public meeting at Sanjay Nagar Gurudwara Hall in Rani Talab area.
After listening to the public grievances Dwarka Choudhary said that BJP government has stopped pensions to the old age persons, widows and physically challenged persons while the same pension was sanctioned by the Congress government.
He claimed that the people are being harassed by the present government as now the Property Tax is being imposed on the people living within JMC limits.
The JMC Councillor also raised the issue of Smart Meters installed in front of each residential house which gives hefty power bills.
He further said that price of essential commodities has also been increased and the common people are bearing the brunt of all these anti-people moves.
Mohinder Singh, president of Gurudwara Rani Talab Digiana, Harbans Lal Sharma and Balbir Singh, Ward president also spoke on the occasion.
Subash Chowdhary, Kher Singh, Paira Singh, Gurdiyal Singh, Madan Lal Chowdhary and many other people of the Ward were also present in the meeting.
