RAJOURI, Oct 15: The police in Nowshera sub division of Rajouri district have arrested notorious thieves involved in several cases of thefts and recovered stolen property from their possession.
Official sources said that several theft cases were registered in Rajouri district during this year for which special teams were constituted by SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh to investigate these cases on priority.
A police team headed by SHO Nowshera, Insp Manpreet Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, DySP Zaheer Abbas Jafri and Additional SP Nowshera, MR Giri after hectic efforts using technical support and human intelligence intercepted notorious thieves namely, Zaheer Ahmed, son of Mohd Munir and Ajaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Rafiq, both residents of Naili, Manjakote.
During investigation, they were found involved in six theft cases in jurisdiction of Police Station Nowshera.
Another accused namely- Sadaqat Hussain, son of Noor Hussain, resident of Karadh, Kotranka was also found involved in seven theft cases was apprehended.
On their disclosure recovered four stolen bikes and other stolen goods/ articles worth three lacks have been recovered so far.
Investigation of the cases is still going on and more stolen vehicles and other theft materials, are likely to be recovered, police said.
