NZATI holds day-long workshop on GST

JAMMU, Oct 16: The Northern Zonal Accountancy Training Institute (NZATI), collaborated with the State Taxes Department, to conduct a daylong workshop on Goods and Services Tax (GST) here today.
A statement said that the workshop was specifically designed for the newly appointed Accounts Officers (Probationers) of 2023 batch.
While Namrata Dogra, Additional Commissioner, State Taxes (Administration and Enforcement), Jammu, graced the occasion as the chief guest welcome address was delivered by Bharti Sambyal, Director Finance and the Principal of the Institute.
In the inaugural session of the workshop, Namrata Dogra engaged with the officer trainees, underscoring the paramount roles and responsibilities of Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) within the realm of the Goods and Services Tax.
Subsequent to the opening session, Tamanna Seth and Sachin Gupta, State Taxes Officers, conducted a comprehensive presentation aimed at deepening the trainees’ understanding of various provisions within the GST Act.
Notably, they highlighted the critical facets of registration, the obligations and responsibilities of DDOs concerning GST, and important aspects of return compliance (GSTR7), tax deduction, and payment release.
The central objective of this workshop was to equip the officers with a nuanced comprehension of their roles and responsibilities in the context of GST. This, in turn, empowers them to execute their duties proficiently and effectively in the field.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of Dr Farah Anjum, Senior Instructor, Isha Jerath, Instructor, Sanjay Koul, Instructor, and the Accounts Officers belonging to the probationers of batch 2023.
