JAMMU, Oct 17: Members of the J&K Private Schools Association, Jammu, called on Director School Education Jammu Ashok Kumar Sharma, here today and apprised him of their problems as well as demands.
While briefing, the members said that the School Education Department has failed to grant recognition on the basis of affiliation to all such schools which were affiliated by JKBOSE on offline mode vide JKBOSE orders numbers 01/Affil/ 2020/JD/A-06 dated 14/07/2020,01-Aff./ Gen-JD of 2021 dated 30/07/2021 and 01/Gen./JD of Affil. Comm. No.01 of 2023 dated 04/01/2023 respectively.
Members also briefed that most of the coaching centers are running in parallel to that of the schools and providing coaching to the children in school hours from class 6th to 12th by manipulating dummy admissions in number of Government and private schools. This new culture of running dummy classes in Jammu & Kashmir has created a stress among the students which has now hampered the teaching and learning process in the schools, they explained and cautioned that if this menace of dummy admission is not controlled timely, Jammu & Kashmir will become a new suicide hub like Kota, Sikar of Rajasthan.
To generate a transparent mechanism, the Association demanded strict imposition of rules which were laid on 2010 by the Government for Private Tuition Centers and Coaching Centers by virtue of which they were restricted to function half an hour earlier and half an hour after the school hours. They also demanded a display of recognition of all pre and primary /nursery / primary and middle school on the official website of Directorate of School Education Jammu with their order number and period of recognition.
The members in the delegation, included Ajay Gupta, Deepak Handa, Sanjeev Luthra, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Vineet Gupta, Rakesh Gupta and Thomas Omaan etc.
