JTC highlights demands of Kashmiri migrants

JAMMU, Oct 18: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held today at Jagti township, Nagrota near here under the chairmanship of its president,Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the protesters Pandita said that the land of Kashmiri Pandits which has been laying in Kashmir Valley for the last 33 years on which some people in Kashmir have made illegal encroachments the Government should remove these illegal encroachments and restore the land.
Pandita said that for the past 33 years Kashmiri Pandits have been forced to live a life of exile by staying outside Kashmir due to which they are losing identity and Government is responsible for that.
Pandita said that KPs want to return to Kashmir for which three satellite colonies/townships should be built near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag as soon as possible where they can be rehabilitated.
Pandita said that Kashmiri migrants have been facing lot of difficulties and the Government should solve them as soon as possible.
He demanded enhancement in monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000, 20,000 Jobs be given to unemployed Kashmiri migrant youth, over- aged educated unemployed youth of community should be given bank loans upto 25 lakh without interest so that they can start their own business, on-spot recruitment for police force in Jagti township be launched for Kashmiri Pandits youth, losses of property suffered during last 33 years be compensated, removal of illegal encroachments on the lands/ religious places of KPs in Valley and reservation of five assembly and two parliamentary seats for the community.
