BJP launching novel way of campaigning

JAMMU, Oct 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) co-incharge, J&K, Ashish Sood today accused the three dynastic parties including Nehru-Gandhi family, Abdullahs and Muftis of depriving the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) of J&K from their rights.
Talking to reporters after attending a party meeting in Srinagar, Sood said the OBCs in J&K were deprived of the Constitutional rights by the three dynasties who ruled the erstwhile State for over six decades and it was the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Narendra Modi which took the initiative to give these people the benefits of the Central Government schemes.
“The people belonging to OBC categories in the erstwhile State of J&K were deprived of all benefits they were entitled to on the name of Rural Backward Area (RBA) while in rest of the country the OBCs are entitled to all the rights enshrined in the Constitution,” he added.
Taking a dig at opposition parties and Gupkar Alliance, he said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has no issue in sight except blaming Adani for everything while NC president, Dr Farooq Abdullah is talking about the Palestinians. The Modi Government in comparison to that is concerned for the backward and underprivileged people of this country and it is the first Government which has linked itself to Pasmanda (backward) people by launching historical Vishwakrma Scheme for their welfare last month.
Terming it a game changing scheme, he said BJP is trying to connect with every section of society but the Gupkar Alliance and other Opposition parties are bereft of the issues and they are only trying to mislead the people by criticising BJP, he added.
While highlighting the Vishwakarma Scheme launched by PM Modi, Sood said in the first phase four districts of J&K have also been included in the Scheme under which various benefits could be provided to the people belonging to OBC categories. He said 18 trades were brought under the scheme which included making boats, weaving nets for fishing, making earthen pots, carpenters, ironsmith etc. The people working in these trades can seek benefit under the scheme, he added.
Sood said that with a financial allocation of Rs 13,00o crore the scheme is designed to benefit artisans and craftsmen primarily from OBCs in J&K. It offers substantial support from registration to financial assistance to uplift these traditional vocations.
The Vishwakarma Scheme is planned to span five years and is expected to benefit approximately 30 lakh families of artisans and craftsmen, including weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, and laundry workers, Sood said.
The BJP leader while addressing the partymen earlier especially youth asked them that by focusing 2024 Lok Sabha elections they have to link people with Modi schemes to make them self-reliant by taking the advantage of these self -employment schemes.
He said earlier under Jan Dhan Yojna, Swatch Bharat, Awas Yojna, Ayushman Bharata, Kissan Samman Nidhi etc crores of people were benefitted and now Vishwakarma scheme will prove a game changer for the people belonging to OBC categories all over the country.
Sood said BJP has started a novel idea of campaigning in coming Lok Sabha elections under which the youth after providing training in the workshop will visit every Panchayat and Booth all over country to link people with Modi schemes.
The meeting took place at S1 Church Lane in Srinagar, where key leaders of the party convened to deliberate on various Government schemes and their impact on the local populace, especially the underprivileged.
Besides Sood, the gathering was attended by prominent BJP figures, including Ashok Koul, J&K BJP general secretary (Org.) and Sunil Prajapati, president of the J&K BJP OBC Morcha, among other senior party leaders.
The focus of the meeting was to assess Government schemes and their significance in improving the lives of the people, especially those in need.
Ashok Koul while addressing the meeting said that the BJP Government is dedicated to the welfare of the people. He highlighted initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which aims to provide financial services to the economically disadvantaged, and the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, offering free healthcare up to Rs five lakh per person for economically disadvantaged families. These schemes, he noted, showed the party’s commitment to the people’s well-being, he added.
Sunil Prajapati, stressed the importance of ensuring that these schemes effectively reach the intended beneficiaries. He encouraged party workers to redouble their efforts in making these programs accessible to the people.
In addition, several other prominent leaders of the party attended the meeting, including Sajjad Kumar Hussain, general secretary BJP OBC Morcha, Fayaz Ahmed Najar, vice president BJP OBC Morcha, Muzaffar Ahmed Najar, Prabhari Central Kashmir BJP OBC Morcha and G. M. Hajjam spokesperson BJP OBC Morcha.
