Durga Nagar, Dogra Nagar residents seek redressal of water scarcity problem

JAMMU, Oct 19: The Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by its presidents, Roshan Lal Raina and Sanjay Ganjoo have sought immediate solution to acute water scarcity problem being faced by the residents of twin localities of Durga Nagar and Dogra Nagar.
In a statement issued here, today the Committee said a representation was also submitted to the LT Governor, Manoj Sinha seeking his immediate intervention in the matter.
The Committee said that the people of the area are getting water supply after a gap of nine days. Moreover the condition of lanes and roads in the area is worst. The Committee demanded that
the high capacity motor be installed immediately to lift the water to the OHT Tank Durga Nagar, the water may be provided to OHT tank Durga Nagar from 11.30 am onwards, standby motor of high capacity be kept reserve, the Durga Nagar Tube well be made more functional, 24 hour power supply to essential services Muthi Feeder No.MU-09 be ensured, steps may be taken immediately so that the work of new Tube Well be started to provide a succour to people.
The meeting expressed the hope that Government will settle the problems on priority basis.
