JAMMU, Oct 19: One person was arrested with 10.40 grams of heroin from Roop Nagar area here.
A police spokesperson said that on October 18, 2023, a team of Police Station Janipur led by Inspector Sikander Singh Chouhan under the supervision of SDPO City West, Vikram Bhau, SP City Kulbir Chand Handa, and overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, was patrolling in Upper Roop Nagar area.
“There (Upper Roop Nagar), they found one person moving in suspicious conditions, who tried to escape on seeing the police party,” he said, adding, “but the alert police jawans overpowered the suspect.”
He was identified as Deepak Khajuria son of late Som Raj Khajuria of Upper Krishna Nagar, Jammu at present Bantalab, he said.
During checking of the suspect, the police spokesperson said that 10.40 grams of heroin-like-narcotics was recovered from his possession.
Police have accordingly arrested and booked the accused in case FIR number 114/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Janipur and taken up further investigation.
