Srinagar, Oct 20: Over a week after Excelsior reported on the illegal constructions along the Narbal-Baramulla stretch of National Highway (NH-44), the officers from the district administration today visited several areas, directing the violators to cease construction work.
According to the details, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, a team from the Revenue Department, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Revenue and the concerned Tehsildar, paid a visit in response to reports of illegal construction, especially near the Chenad Sangrama area of the district.
The areas that witnessed the inspection of the officials include Kanispora and Delina as well.
Those informed about the developments mentioned that the authorities have made it clear that no unauthorized constructions will be allowed, and individuals planning any construction must obtain the necessary permits from the relevant authorities.
It is important to note that on the day Excelsior reported the violations, the administration also served notices to the violators, labeling the constructions as illegal and instructing them to halt their activities.
However, the violators, on the other hand, claim that the administration is taking too long to issue the required permissions, causing them difficulties.
