SMC Ward Officer, Building Inspector suspended

SRINAGAR, Oct 20: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) today suspended a Ward Officer and a Senior Building Inspector for violating rules, while also appointing an Inquiry Officer to look into the matter.
As per the order, pending an inquiry into the matter, Riyaz Ahmad, Ward Officer of Ward No. 22, and Muhammad Amin Sheikh, Senior Building Inspector of Ward No. 22, have been placed under suspension with immediate effect, in accordance with Rule 310 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
“The officials shall remain attached to the office of the Chief Sanitation Officer, SMC,” the order stated.
The work of Ward No. 22, as per the order, shall be overseen by the Ward Officer and Building Inspector of Ward 21, in addition to their own duties, until further orders.
Furthermore, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Joint Commissioner (Planning), SMC has been nominated as the inquiry officer who shall submit his report within 7 days, along with specific remarks and recommendations.
