JAMMU, Oct 20: While cautioning the administration in JKUT to clear pending GPF, leave salary, gratuity and SRO-43 cases, the angry J&K Government employees have resolved to launch united protest demonstration at Srinagar and Jammu on November 4, 2023.
Addressing a joint press conference here today the leaders of various employees organizations/ unions including Govt Employees Joint Action Forum and Employees Joint Consultative Committee, Jammu & Kashmir, resolved to wage a joint struggle and exert pressure on the Government for the resolution of their pending issues. They alleged that there was strong resentment among the Government employees as the UT Administration was least bothered about the issues of the employees. Their pending dues are not being cleared.
They said the employees who retired during last 6-7 months, are still waiting for the release of their GPF, leave salary, gratuity, and even pension. The employees hard earned money is not being released on different pretexts. They need money for the marriage of their wards and construction/repair of houses. They demanded timely release of salary of the permanent and other daily rated/ consolidated employees.
They expressed strong resentment against the LG’s Administration for not clearing pending SRO-43 cases for the last over four years. They alleged that Chief Secretary and GAD were causing unnecessary delay in clearing these pending and most deserving cases. They further demanded implementation of Old Pension Scheme in the Jammu and Kashmir. They also demanded regularization of all the daily rated workers and implementation of 7th Pay Commission in pending PSUs. These leaders also demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance of the employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month.
Senior leaders Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Aijaz Khan, Ganesh Khajuria, Subhash Verma, Balvadhar Sharma, Gurmeet Singh and Kamaldeep Singh made it clear that employees should not be forced to come out on the roads for getting their legitimate dues. They said during general house meeting held here the previous day, it was resolved to stage a symbolic protest at Srinagar and Jammu on November 4, 2023 at 11 am onwards in support of their demands. These protests will be held outside Press Clubs of Jammu and Srinagar. They suggested that JKUT Administration must avoid attitude of confrontation with employees and resolve their issues without any more delay.
