KATRA, Oct 20: In today’s competition of All India Devotional Song Competition at Yog Ashram Complex Katra, Rakesh Malhotra from Jammu bagged Ist Position and secured his entry into Semi Final of the event, to be held on 22nd Oct.
Reema Devi from Kanyala, Laisel Rai from Chandigarh and Shyam Sajan from Reasi stood 2nd while 3rd position was shared by Suresh Kumar from Akhnoor & Neeta/Bharti from Dinanagar. They got their entry into quarter final to be held on 23 rd Oct.
On the occasion, celebrity singer Rajan Gill mesmerised the audience with his melodious voice and his presentation.
The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music, including Dr Surinder Kumar Sharma, HoD Govt Degree College Sunni Shimla and Dr C L Verma, Ex Chairman Post Graduate University of Himachal Pradesh; Dr Usha Kher, Ph D in Music from Delhi University and a renowned singer.
The proceeding of competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir who is also the Chairman of the said Competition. While speaking on the occasion, he said that preliminary rounds will end on 20th Oct and quarter final, semi final and final of the competition would be there on 21st, 22nd and 23rd October, respectively.
The All India Devotional Song Competition is being organized by SMVD Shrine Board and Deptt of J&K Tourism, in association with J&K Bank, Nice Gems, DIVINITI, Nidheesh Builders Jammu Pvt Ltd, Pure Roots, Vishwayatan Yog Ashram Complex with active support of District Administration and the local host community.
