JAMMU, Oct 20: In support of their pending demands, the President of the Ex. Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association (CPMFWA) J&K UT, Shashi Sharma, today urged upon the Government to redress their demands on priority.
Addressing a press conference, Shashi Sharma said that despite both forces displaying the same dedication, valour, and patriotism, Paramilitary Forces do not receive the same benefits and support. Their service conditions are regulated by stringent acts with provisions for punishments comparable to Defense Forces. However, their pay, perks, post-retirement benefits, and pensions are governed by the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules 1972, which provides benefits only equal to those of Central Government Civilian Employees,” he said and stressed the need to rectify this injustice.
He requested PM Modi to address their issue with specific reference to the 2006 and 2015 pension schemes.
On the occasion, the Chief Advisor of Ex. CPMFWA J&K (UT), Harinder Mahajan, felicitated 20 widows from all Paramilitary Forces, including BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, and SSB.
Furthermore, Assistant Commandant Ashok Kumar was announced as the new Chairman of the Ex. Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association.
Among others who were present included Harbans Lal (Vice President), Noor Muhammad (General Secretary), Yash Paul, Ashok Kumar (Chairman), Kirtan Singh, Harvinder Kour and Lovely Pandita.
