NAUP flays administration for delaying pension to widows, others

JAMMU, Oct 21: National Awami United Party (NAUP) general secretary, Shikha Bandral has flayed LG administration for issuing instruction for submitting fresh documents for the long pending pensions to old age persons, widows and physically challenged persons.
In a press conference here today the NAUP leader urged upon the administration to put on hold the fresh submission of new documents till the new census report comes in 2026 and stop the sufferings of poor people.
She further said that people are living their lives with difficulties and hardship due to delay in pension by the government.
Shikha also appealed to the LG administration to hike the existing pension from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000 well before the announcement of election.
NAUP also urged upon the LG administration to take into consideration the hike in rates of all essential commodities and give proper relief to the poor people and pensioners of J&K by hiking their pension.
Bandhana Devi, Kamlesh Devi, Darshana Devi and Nirmala Devi were also present in the press conference.
