Jora, Kichloo launch Help-Line, online grievance redressal cell in JMC

JAMMU, Jan 11: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Industries and Commerce  Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today launched 24×7 Municipal Help-Line and Online grievance redressal cell at Jammu Municipal Corporation.
The Help-Line has toll-free Number 18001803333 and will be a big leap forward towards complaint management system. It will help in immediate redressal of grievances with regard to engineering, building, enforcement, health, sanitation, veterinary and general services.
The Secretary in Housing and Urban Development, Satish Nehru, Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal, Joint Commissioner JMC, Kapil Sharma, Financial Advisor Omar Khan and concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jora said that the helpline will be based on latest technology using IT enabled services so that the system is workable round the clock with minimum human interference and optimal results in terms of delivery of services. He said the helpline has toll free number which can be used by the citizens at no cost. He said the Helpline is being managed by a team of professional and skilled persons working on the model of Call Center who will be attending to the complaints as well as responding within 24 hours about the status of redressal. He said this system will provide direct connectivity to the citizens with the Corporation thereby saving their valuable time and besides redressing their complaints.
Mr. Jora said that JMC will shortly distribute Green and Yellow twin colour dustbins free of cost to the house holds to ensure segregation of bio-degradable waste at source.
Mr. Kichloo said that launching of Helpline service for the people of Jammu had become all the more necessary in view of its many folds increase in population which has increased to about 12 lakh. He said JMC has taken many initiatives to ensure effective delivery of services to the people at their door steps. He said in the first phase, a pilot project to collect garbage at source segregated recyclable and non-recyclable waste from households will be started in NITCO Lane Talab Tillo, Wazart Road Gandhi Nagar and Janipur localities.
