Wars / battles or skirmishes have had been fought, won and lost , since time immemorial, since creation of the multipolar world and even during Ramayana and Mahabharata times. The one who won have had the best of tactics (flawless plans) weapons (modern or ultra modern) and the Army (courageous soldiers with lot of grit and determination and nationalist soldiers indeed). Hamas attack into Israel didn’t happen overnight. The Hamas terrorists must have been planning and preparing for quite sometime in the past gaining intelligence and collecting other relevant information required to achieve surprise as the exactly did.
The most predominant plausible reasons as one could fathom and think of which could have led to this attack:-
* Complacency and complacency, which should have been never allowed and never. Complacency of Government its people and the armed forces and Intelligence agencies leads to playing into the hands of the enemy. Complacency is a sort of, off guard approach, which proves murderous in many a times and exactly in this very case of terrorist attack it proved murderous. In this very case, the Israel was complacent and the huge cost has been paid by Israel due to complacency.
*The ground forces are definitely an essential requirement to hold and occupy physically territory captured.
* Wholly solely depending on modern technology and weaponry is not the right choice or approach and ignoring the absolute necessity of armed forces is a mistake, grave mistake or an error of judgement. We all defence analysts are fully aware of the fact that the man behind the equipment matters the most than the equipment itself. Though we equally dare not deny the fact that modern weapons and technology is very much required and is a fundamental component of war winning tool as simple. Period.
* Political instability or political destabilization in Israel was also one of the factors that Hamas terrorists took advantage of to undertake infiltration into Israel. Almost four governments have changed in two years in Israel. Government change in simple terms means change in ideology. Coalition governments or multiparty governments have never been proved successful all over the world. Political instability causes confusions and doubts on our own national policies and differences emerge amongst political masters . Political instability invites disaster.
* Over confidence never. Confidence wins half the battle and over confidence loses half the battle, the net result is zero or a state of unwanted and unwarranted disequilibrium emerges. All is well , take it all is not well and plan and prepare accordingly to ward off coming dangers.
* Do not try to find peace by peaceful means only, because peaceful coexistence policy with terrorists will not work and prove disastrous infact. Peaceful policy will get us only uncivilized unwarranted activities and unnecessary unwanted violence in return. Nip the evil in the bud with a strong hand initially to begin with. To set things right from the scratch itself , a firm policy and firm hand is the need of the hour so that nobody dares undertaking mischievous activity.
* Strong Army, a militarily superior Army. Ever alert and combat ready Army is the immediate need so that we are able to fight to finish, to crush any kind of unnecessary thrust upon us unwanted and unwarranted situation. (laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahin maanate). Rude people don’t understand soft language. As simple please note. India always says at international forums that terror and talks can’t go together. Even after our enemy ( in this case terrorist says , ok fine). We bury the hatchet and start afresh again. Believe it only outwardly and inwardly not as simple.
* Negotiating and expecting peace with those who have terror in mind can prove to be very costly. Destroy terror using all available means and if necessary with force and adequate tenacity . That is the only most sought after solution to establish permanent peace solution. Soft policy against terrorism , its all forms of manifestations and terrorists will never work and pay desired dividends.
* Democratic form of Government is the best Government as recognized worldwide today in carrying out seamless governance business in right earnest. But, overdoses of democracy with appeasement of one section, makes a society weak in taking clear decisions and determined action.
* Goodie goodie talks with an enemy ( terrorist) , who is ready to behead you and your children , rape with your women folk and kidnap your elders and conducts brutality will not work. A firm hand and all out efforts by all citizens to crush him are required and terrorists understand this language only and soft approach is taken as a weakness. Soft approach emboldens the terrorists must understand. Therefore Act and don’t react.
* A Government must look after the welfare of its armed forces as they are the last resort and ready to fight all out to finish terrorists and gain victory and glory for the nation and its populace. Never ever think that armed forces are a burden and costly for your country. This will lead to disgruntlement , disappointment and demoralization of armed forces. This is very dangerous development and may lead to disastrous results at the time of delivery. Therefore keep armed forces above all and pretty fitter and ignore not their welfare as they are ever ready to make supreme sacrifice as they have had already signed the death warrant at the time of joining. It is better to stay protected and save national assets.
At the end a humble request to all countrymen to remain united as we did in the past during hours of crisis . For a national cause, unity assumes great significance and we all together can and together we move forward and together we will win . Hip hip hurray.
