JAMMU, Jan 11: Minister for Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, who is also MLA of Kishtwar, has enjoined upon the Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) on creation of new administrative units to keep into consideration the acute poverty and backwardness of Kishtwar district while finalizing its recommendations about new administrative units.
Mr Kichloo, who met the members of the CSC headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, the other day, submitted memorandum of demands regarding creation of more administrative units in Kishtwar district.
“District Kishtwar is comprising hilly and difficult rugged terrain where majority of the people are living below average life due to less road connectivity and negligible cultivable land”, he said, adding “most of the habitations in the district are scattered and people of these remote villages and hamlets have to travel long distances on foot to reach district, tehsil and block headquarters to seek redressal of their grievances”.
Kichloo enjoined upon the CSC to recommend creation of Sub Division at Marwa and Padder, which mostly remain land locked during inclement weather conditions. He also demanded tehsils at Dachan and Nagseni besides Niabat offices at Palmar, Bhegna, Machil (Padder) and Triagam. He also demanded NSC block for Bhander-Kote (Palmar).
