MAS announces annual awards

JAMMU, Oct 23: Maraz Adbi Sangam (MAS), a literary organization of south Kashmir, held its general body meeting in Bijbehara today and announced annual awards after recommendations of five-member award committee.
A handout stated that this year’s Sharf-e-Maraz award shall be bestowed on broadcaster and writer Brij Nath Pandit Betab while senior writer and Sahitya Akademi Awardee S. Razi shall be conferred with Shan-e-Maraz award and the young writer Ashraf Ravi’s book of critical analysis ‘Gona Saevi Gonmath’ was selected for Shah Para Maraaz award 2023.
‘Manka Moti’, a poetry collection written by Chaudhary Sharifuddin Qamar in Gojri language, was selected for Shama Maraaz 2023.
S. Razi, a senior writer is a founder member of MAS and has rendered selfless services for Kashmiri language and literature. So far, 16 books of S. Razi have been published. He has also been awarded Bal Sahitya Praskar by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in 2010.
Brij Nath writes in Hindi, Urdu and English and till date he has authored seven books.
Ashraf Ravi is counted among the young writers of Kashmiri language.
Chaudhary Sharifuddin Qamar is one of the prominent writers of Gojri language.
Ali Shaida, president MAS and Dr. Mohammad Shafi Ayaz, vice president congratulated all the writers selected for awards.
