Three-day course on juvenile justice begins at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Oct 25: A three-day course on “juvenile justice” began at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today.
As per a statement, 19 police officers, including Sub-Inspectors, Inspectors, and DySPs are attending the course, which has been designed to sensitize police officers regarding various legal provisions related to the protection, care, and rights of the children.
Deputy Director (Indoor) at SKPA Udhampur, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, briefed the participating officers about the basic concept of the course and the existing legal provisions related to the subject in his inaugural address.
He discussed in detail the emerging challenges related to the juvenile crimes and stressed the importance of adopting innovative methods to curb the menace.
The course is being coordinated by Sukhvir Singh, DySP, Assistant Director (Administration), assisted by Inspector Naseer Mehmood Naik, a faculty member.
