JAMMU, Oct 25: Apni Party Provincial president Women Wing Jammu, Pavneet Kour has said that the Apni Party is committed to politically empower women in Jammu and Kashmir for the social, educational and economic upliftment.
She made these remarks while addressing a meeting in Jammu South’s Tutray village in Miran Sahib. The meeting was organized by senior vice president, Jammu, Sunita Devi.
During meeting, over a dozen women joined the Apni Party. The new entrants were welcomed into the party fold by Pavneet Kour. She hoped that their joining would strengthen the party.
She referred to the policy and agenda of Apni Party that is focused on empowering women in Jammu and Kashmir by providing them equal representation in politics. Pavneet said Apni Party believes in the empowerment of the women by providing them education, economic and political opportunities.
She said party president, Altaf Bukhari has assured that if Apni Party is comes to power, it would enhance the widow/old-age/specially abled pension from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000, give free of cost 4 cooking gas cylinders per year to poor families and enhance cash assistance of Rs 50, 000 to 1 Rs lakhs to the young girls for their marriage.
