JAMMU, Oct 25: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura, Virender Gupta here today conducted a public grievance redressal camp at Panchayat Ghar, Dhanna Jhalaara of the Sub Division.
A serious concern for linkage between Dhanna Jhalaara to Government High School, Ghar (via Sidhra Mohalla) was expressed and it was conveyed by the Sarpanch that more than 20,000 inhabitants residing in Ghaar, Majoor, Kanehari, Choura and Chowki Panchayats shall be immensely benefited once the linkage is constructed as their journey shall be shortened by 16 km.
It was briefed by the representatives of Public Works Department that the project costing Rs. 4.18 crore has already been sent to the administrative department. The SDM assured that the matter shall be prioritized. A participant in the camp exhorted for linking road from Dhanna Shappri School to Ward No. 4 and the SDM assured that the matter shall be brought to the notice of Block Development Officer, Chowki Choura.
The SDM and ZEO also visited Government Middle School, Dhanna Ambo Shahni to assess punctuality of teachers. On need for more desks the Chief Education Officer Jammu was contacted and he assured for arranging desks from nearby school till formal sanction from the administration.
On insistence of inhabitants of Ward No. 4 of Choura Panchayat, a visit was made by the SDM to the area wherein he saw pitiable condition of dwellers of Loharka Mohalla and assured that the matter shall be taken up with Block Development Officer, Chowki Choura for immediate redressal.
