KATHUA, Oct 25: District administration Kathua in association with Municipal Council (MC), Kathua started anti encroachment drive in late evening today from Kalahari to Mukhreeje Chowk in the town.
The drive was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Minhas who was accompanied by Executive Officer, Municipal Council, and police team.
The anti encroachment drive was started in the town after completion of deadline given to footpath encroachers and vendors by the authorities.
The anti encroachment drive team removed encroachment from various places made by vendors and Rehariwalas on the footpath and roadsides . The team also issued strict warning to encroachers asking them not to encroach the footpath and road in future. The Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Minhas said that retail fruit and vegetables market has been setup in front of District Jail Kathua and land has also been earmarked for vegetables and fruits vendors , Rehariwalas on one place. He again appealed the vendors to shift to that place for smooth functioning otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
