BJP, others celebrate ‘Vilay Diwas’ with fervour, enthusiasm

JAMMU, Oct 26: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated ‘Vilay Diwas’ (Accession Day) of Jammu & Kashmir with Indian Union today with fervor and great enthusiasm across the J&K.
In this connection party held functions both at Jammu and Srinagar in which hundreds of party activists participated and paid glowing tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh the last Dogra ruler of J&K for this historic decision.
At Jammu the grand function was held at Maharaja Hari Singh Park here which was addressed by BJP senior leaders who also paid homage to Maharaja Hari Singh.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina accompanied by party general secretary (Org.), Ashok Koul, former MP, Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Dy. CM, Kavinder Gupta, Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha chairman, Narain Singh, party general secretary, Vibodh Gupta, Mayor JMC, Rajinder Sharma, Maha Mandaleshwar, Mahant Rameshwar Das Ji Maharaj, Dy. Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria, vice-president, Rajput Sabha, Jagdish Singh, district presidents, Parmod Kapahi, Rekha Mahajan and Sunil Shastri shared the stage.

Ravinder Raina said that the day of 26 October is of great importance to every resident of J&K in a similar way as that of 15 August. Whole of Jammu & Kashmir including illegally occupied part of undivided J&K and Ladakh with Pakistan and China was made an inseparable part of Bharat.
He said that the Accession was completed without any condition by Maharaja , but NC and Congress who conspired against the unity of nation for their vested interests propagated false narrative. He added that Maharaja Hari Singh was a hard core patriot who stressed for freedom internationally, which irked the British and hence all the conspiracies were hatched.
Ashok Koul shared the minute details of events around before 1947 emphasizing on the role of RSS in Accession of Jammu & Kashmir citing important contributions of second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS Guru Ji (Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar) and Balraj Madhok, Rai Bahadur Badri Das, Barrister Ranjit Singh, Madhav Rao Mule, Harish, Jagdish Abrol and others. He also cited the relation of Bengal Andolan, Bung-Bung Andolan, 2-Nation theory by the British.
He asked all to understand Maharaja’s character as a philanthropist and as a patriotic ruler.
Mayor Rajinder Sharma, ex MP, Shamsher Manhas, former Dy CM, Kavinder Gupta, Narain Singh, Vibodh Gupta and others spoke on the occasion.

BJP leader and Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board Darakshan Andrabi urged the youth to educate the people about the historical importance of the day when Jammu and Kashmir on this day in 1947 formally acceded to India.
Andrabi emphasized the historic importance of ‘Accession Day’ and urged the youth to play an active role in educating the common masses about the same.
She recalled that on October 26, 1947, the then Maharaja signed the Instrument of Accession, a monumental step that was endorsed by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, formally merging the State of Jammu & Kashmir with the Union of India.
Andrabi termed decision of Maharaja Hari Singh to sign the Instrument of Accession as a bold and visionary step that has made the people of Jammu and Kashmir proud to be an integral part of the world’s largest democracy.
On the Accession Day BJP organized a grand celebration at its Headquarters in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar under the leadership of district president of the party Ashok Bhat in which Minority Morcha, Yuva Morcha, Kissan Morcha and ST Morcha participated.
To commemorate Accession Day in a spirited display of unity, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a massive Vilay Daud Marathon in which hundreds of youngsters participated. The event gathered participants and spectators from all walks of life, was of great success, highlighting the deep-rooted nationalism and enthusiasm of the Jammunities.
Vilay Daud, a tribute to the nationalist forces and martyrs of 1947 of Jammu Kashmir, was ceremoniously flagged off by UT president of BJP, Ravinder Raina; former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta and senior BJP leader, Aseem Gupta.
Hundreds of young passionate runners from all age groups and backgrounds participated in the marathon. Arun Prabhat, the UT president BJYM, highlighted the vital role played by Maharaja Hari Singh, Dogra forces and the series of events that led to the unification of Jammu Kashmir with the dominion of India.
BJP Mahila Morcha, J&K, also celebrated the Accession Day with great zeal and enthusiasm at Maharaja Hari Singh statue at Tawi Bridge by paying glorious tributes to the Maharaja.
Sanjita Dogra, State president, Mahila Morcha said that the whole J&K is celebrating this Day as it has come after supreme sacrifices by nationalist forces in the erstwhile State of J&K. “Vijay Diwas is like Republic and Independence Day for us as this was the Day when the Maharaja Hari Singh took a bold and historic decision and made J&K an integral part of India.
On the occasion of Accession Day Samadhaan Foundation a cultural, charitable and educational organization held ” ‘Adhimilanotsav’ under the theme “Duggar Goonj” at Purmandal, also known as “Choti Kashi” of Duggar Pradesh.
DDC Chairman of district Samba, Keshaw Dutt Sharma was the Chief Guest on this occasion, who appreciated the initiative of the Foundation and assured full support and fulfillment of all demands raised by it for the preservation of heritage at Purmandal and promotion of its legacy.
Main speaker on the occasion was Parshotam Dadhichi president Sanatan Dharm Sabha who threw light on the importance of this day and appreciated the initiative of Samadhaan Foundation to organise such a grand programme at Purmandal.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh was the guest of honour who also appreciated the Foundation’s efforts for highlighting historically and religiously important places in J&K.
Pawan Sharma, patron-in-chief and founder of Samadhaan while speaking threw light on “Duggar Goonj”. In his address he said that this programme is a representation of the aspirations of millions of people of Duggar Pradesh. On this occasion Pawan Sharma issued 21 point Purmandal Declaration, a vision for prosperous, developed and self-reliant new J&K. He further said that it is the need of the hour to re-establish” Duggar Swarajya” for rule of Law and Justice. People from all walks of life from all parts of Jammu & Kashmir participated in this historic event enthusiastically.
In Jammu function to celebrate the Accession Day was also held by Maharaja Gulab Singh Brigade led by working president, Anil Singh Rakhwal which was graced by its president, S S Jamwal and other leaders at Hari Singh Park. They highlighted the crucial role played by Maharaja in making J&K an integral part of India.
The Accession Day was also celebrated by Mission Statehood. The activists of the Mission Statehood took out a rally under the leadership of its chairman, Sunil Dimple to Tawi Bridge, where the statue of Maharaja was garlanded.
The Accession Day was also celebrated by Mahajan Sabha Udhampur and in this regard a function was held at Mahajan Bhawan in the town. The president of the Sabha highly praised Maharaja Hari Singh and Lala Mehar Chand Mahajan for their historic role.
