JAMMU, Oct 26: Police in Akhnoor area here claimed today that they have booked a notorious criminal under the PIT NDPS Act.
A police spokesperson said that information was received at Police Station Akhnoor through reliable sources about presence of one Vishram Dass alias Tyagi Baba of Jio Pota Ghat of Ward Number 6, Tehsil Akhnoor, District, Jammu, who was wanted in several cases of drug peddling and dealing in narcotics. A warrant of arrest against the accused was also issued by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
On this, he said, a special team of Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma raided the suspected area and arrested the drug peddler.
Post arrest, the accused has been shifted to District Jail Kathua in compliance of the directions of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
