Two held with 74 gm heroin

JAMMU, Oct 28: Two persons were arrested with 74 grams of heroin from the jurisdictions of Police Stations Kanachak and Gandhi Nagar here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Kanachak led by SDPO Domana Vishal Shoor assisted by SHO Kanachak Inspector Sandeep Singh Chib while on naka duty rounded up a suspected person.
During search of the suspect, identified as Manjeet Singh of Gadigarh, Jammu, he said, 70 grams of heroin was recovered.
He was accordingly booked under the relevant sections of the law registered at Police Station Kanachak and further investigation started into the case.
Similarly, another team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma and PSI Ranjit Singh while on patrolling duty near Janta Fruit Ice Cream Parlour, opposite Main Gate of Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, rounded up a suspected person, Amit Pal of Khakha Naban, Poonch, he said.
During search of the suspect, the spokesperson said that 4 grams of heroin was recovered.
He has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 259/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu and further investigation taken up, added the police spokesperson.
