NC leader flays authorities for power crisis

BANIHAL, Oct 28: National Conference (NC) district Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen here today expressed concern over power crisis in Banihal and its adjoining areas during the start of winter season.
He said that people in District Ramban are suffering due to unscheduled power cuts and there is paucity of clean drinking water also.
In a handout the NC leader expressed concern over defunct utility services and dilapidated condition of roads especially in hilly areas which have increased the problems of common people along with the scarcity of food-grains at CAPD depots.
He said that residents of Banihal and its adjoining areas like Mahu, Mangit, Khari, Nadika, Trigam, Kumbla, Neel, Chaknarwah, Chamalwas and other parts of Ramban are facing unscheduled power cuts as PDD has failed to follow electricity schedule and frequent power cuts have made the situation miserable.
He urged the J&K administration to ensure proper supplies of essentials particularly ration, sugar, kerosene oil, LPG cylinders besides un-interrupted electricity and drinking water during winters.
