UDHAMPUR, Oct 28: Udhampur Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler and recovered 15kg of poppy straw, which was hidden in a truck on way from Kashmir to Jammu.
The truck, bearing registration number HR61E-6371, was intercepted at Jakhani by a Police party of Police Station Udhampur, headed by SHO Raghubir Singh, under the supervision of Addl SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul Haq and DySP Hqrs Udhampur S Gurmeet Singh.
During the checking, Police team found some bags inside the truck in which 15 kg poppy straw was concealed. Police seized the recovered consignment and arrested driver of the Truck, who was identified as Ravi Singh, son of Vir Pan of Gali number 2, Makbool Pura. Amritsar Punjab.
In this connection, case FIR number 540/2023, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Udhampur and investigation is underway.
