Peddler nabbed with codeine bottles

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Police arrested a drug peddler today in South Kashmir’s Kulgam and recovered a dozen codeine bottles from his possession.
Authorities reported that a police party from Police Station Kulgam, during patrolling, intercepted a suspicious individual in the Okay area.
Upon spotting the police party, the person attempted to flee but was apprehended skillfully by the alert police team, police said.
“He has been identified as Javaid Ahmad Zargar, son of Gull Mohd Zargar, a resident of Okay, Kulgam. During the search, officers were able to recover 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession,” police stated.
Accordingly, as per the police, a case (FIR No. 182/2023) under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam, and an investigation has been initiated.
