JAMMU, Oct 30: Aspirants of Sub-Inspector and Junior Engineer (Civil) posts advertized by the Jammu Kashmir service Selection Board, today held a strong protest demanding early declaration of the result.
The protesting aspirants were carrying placards and raising slogans in support of their demand for declaration of the results of written test for the posts of Sub-Inspector and JE(Civil).
They lamented that the present scenario of the recruitment of JKPSI and JE-Civil in J&K UT was wreaking havoc on the social, mental and financial conditions of aspirants.
Talking to the media persons on the occasion, the aspirants reminded that the exams for JKPSI and JE-Civil were conducted for the second time last year, after the recruitment was announced in 2021. “Even after giving the same exam twice, we have been waiting for their results for the last 10 months,” they said and pointed out that the results of all the other exams conducted by Aptech have been declared, except for JKPSI and JE-Civil.
The aspirants further mentioned that judgement by the High Court was pronounced on August 31, 2023 after no anomalies in the conduct of exams for JKPSI and JE-Civil were found by the High Court. “Consequently, a report was expected to be submitted within the next 10 days, based on which the Chief Secretary is to convey his decision to the Secretariat of JKSSB, but sadly, 60 days have passed and no positive development has been observed,” they added. “It also needs to be acknowledged that JKPSI is not a single-stage exam. It requires one to master one’s syllabus and then demands physical fitness, which takes time to achieve. The result is the only thing that gives clarity about how to approach things,” said the aspirants and appealed the Lt Governor to issues necessary directions to the SSB for immediately declaring the results.
