JAMMU, Oct 30: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) has expressed its gratitude to LG led administration for announcing allotment of the land at subsidized rates to KP employees for construction of their houses in Valley for their permanent rehabilitation.
The Committee said besides, a Nodal Officer has also been deputed to address all the long pending issues/grievances of KPs at Kashmir.
The Committee chief, Desh Rattan however wanted to know about the action taken on the portal created for redressal of the distressed sale of their left out properties at Kashmir ordered by Union Home Ministry some time back.
“We have been kept ignorant about the action taken over the grievances of our community on this portal. There are several such cases left undecided, which also included encroachments, land grabbing and forcible occupation by some miscreants (land mafias) that has turned the life of community miserable,. We again request Lt Governor to take immediate action on such grievances launched through the portal”.
He said “Why isn’t the LG administration implementing the policy of issuing relief of Rs.6000 paid annually to the farmers, belonging to KP community having their land in Kashmir province which has turned barren”. “This is sheer discrimination towards KP community and total violation of Constitution of the country. If the Government is really sincere instead of allotting the land on subsidized rates it should get the ancestral land of package employees restored to them”, he added.
Desh Rattan said previously during the Budshah rule when KPs were forced to flee they were later rehabilitated in Valley on the intervention of Shri Bhat . Also during Mughal rule they were again got rehabilitated by Guru Teg Bahadur and during Pathan rule by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. But it is unfortunate that in the independent India the community is leading an exiled life for last 35 years now and every member of community is craving to return to his home but Government is indecisive, he added.
He said the Government should act decisively and ensure the honourable and dignified rehabilitation of community in Kashmir the land of their ancestors.
