Three held with 48 gm heroin

JAMMU, Oct 31: Three drug peddlers were arrested with 48 grams of heroin from the jurisdictions of Police Stations Satwari and Gharota here today, police said.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Satwari led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma while on naka duty at Dashemesh Nagar Chowk rounded up two suspects.
On their search, he said, 30 grams of heroin and Rs 17000 in cash was recovered.
The accused identified as Rashpal Singh of Gadigarh and Chanchal Singh of Sainik Colony Jammu have been arrested and booked in case FIR number 234/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22/25/27-a of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Satwari.
Similarly, a team of Police Station Gharota led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO Gharota Inspector Joginder Singh Chib arrested one person identified as Sachin Sharma of Ramgarh Samba, who was caught with 18 grams of heroin.
The accused had allegedly come to meet an under-trial prisoner Pankaj Sharma of Ramgarh, Samba, at the Central Jail Kot Bhalwal in Jammu, when he was arrested.
Police have booked him in case FIR number 86/2023 Under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gharota and started further investigation.
