JAMMU, Jan 14: Lohri was celebrated with zeal and religious fervour.
The residents of Sector 5 Channi Himmat under the banner of Forum For Harmony and Development and Mother the Nature celebrated Lohri festival, in which women, men and children participated. Special invitee Sat Paul Shastri, retired Principal, SRML Higher Secondary School, highlighted the seasonal and religious connectivity of the festival, before the lighting of holy fire.
People of ward number 53, Trikuta Nagar celebrated Lohri festival under the banner of Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society with enthusiasm and zeal. President of the society Vinod Mahajan threw light on the importance of the Lohri festival. Bonfire was lit in presence of large number of people. SHO Trikuta Nagar Chanchal Singh was the chief guest. Nitish Mahajan, member, Railway Advisory Board, Jagmohan Gupta, Naresh Sehgal, Inderjeet, Kulbhushan Gupta, Yash Pal Gupta, Sham Gupta, Ravinder Singh, Baldev Sharma, Ramesh Tikko, Rakesh and Amardeep Singh were also present.
