Pending shopkeepers of Jagti warn to start construction

JAMMU, Jan 14: Pending Shopkeepers Association Jagti, township, Nagrota while accusing the State Government of its total failure in keeping the commitment made by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in Apex Committee meeting regarding construction of 150 more shops at Jagti.
Association has warned to start the construction of shopping complex on their own from January 15, because the Government has failed to get constructed the shops as per its commitment.
In a joint statement Association members Subash Razdhan, Piyaray Lal Pandita, Manoo Ji Ganjoo, Sushil Kumar, Manoj Ji Tickoo, Sunil Raina, Chuni Lal, Daya Krishan and Pran Nath said the Government will be responsible for all consequences as they are determined to start the construction work themselves as they have been sitting idle since the shifting of camps to Jagti.
The statement said that due to continuous apathy of the State Government towards these shopkeepers their condition has become miserable as except the meager cash doles they have no source of income to keep their body and soul together.
The maximum number of these shopkeepers are over aged youth whose future is becoming bleak day by day with the rigid attitude of the Government, they said, adding the shopkeepers were left with no alternative but to take the drastic step in view of Government’s callousness towards them.
