MUMBAI, Nov 2: Snapping a losing streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex on Thursday spurted 489.59 pts to close at 64,080.90 on the strength of Realty, Metal and Utilities stocks amidst positive global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 144.10 pts at 19133.29.
The Sensex opened on a strong note at 64,033.40, rising 442 pts.
It was rallied 611 pts at 64,202, days high, before closing at 64,080.90, up 489.57 pts from its previous close.
The stocks that lifted the market were Realty by 2.55 pc followed by Telecommunications by 2.42 pc, Utilities by 1.78 pc and Metal by 1.68 pc.
In scrips, IndusInd Bank by 2 pc to Rs 1460.45, Tata Steel by 1.67 pc to Rs 118.55, Tata Motors by 1.66 pc to Rs 637.75, Sun Pharma by 1.47 pc to Rs 1132.60 and Infosys by 1.40 pc to Rs 1372.45.
The losers were Tech Mahindra by 0.59 pc to Rs 1118.05 and Bajaj Finserv by 0.16 pc to Rs 1572.
The Mid Cap rose by 1.20 pc and Small Cap by .97 pc.
In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined. (UNI)
