JAMMU, Nov 4: In continuation to the emergency meeting held with the Govt Employees Joint Action Forum on Friday evening, the GEJAF members were again invited by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu at 11 am in his office chamber to deliberate in detail various demands of the employees.
During the meeting it was reiterated to resolve pending issues of the employees without more delay. It was stressed upon by the Trade Union leaders that pending bills of GP Fund advance of the retired employees which are lying pending in the Govt Treasuries since last so many months be released without any more delay.
They also demanded to release of the Pension Gratuity, Pension Commutation amounts, leave encashment/earned leave (Cash-in- lieu), in favour of all the retired Govt Employees who are waiting for the same since March 2023.
They sought timely release of the monthly salary in favour of all the Government employees on the first day of every month regularly by way of releasing the Salary Grants and the MT well in time to the concerned offices and the Govt Treasuries.
They demanded implementation of 7 Pay Commission in favour of all the employees of Public Sector Undertakings, implementation of OLD PENSION SCHEME in favour of all the Government employees working under NPS in the J&K UT. They also sought five-day working concept, clearance of all the pending cases who are to be employed under the provisions of SRO 8; Regularisation of all the daily rated workers engagement in different Departments.
It was explained by the Divisional Commissioner that pendency of GP Fund cases shall be minimised as far as possible by the ending of this month and it will be seen that no undue delay is made in releasing of all retirement benefits. As regards other issues like SRO 43 cases, unhindered payment of pension to all deptts, and 7th Pay Commission implementation to Forest Corporation and SRTC, these will be looked into positively at appropriate level. A demand was raised that till daily wagers are regularised, they should either be allowed to work beyond retirement age or in the alternative some lumpsum amount be sanctioned to such workers. Five days week, OPS and regulation of daily wagers is a policy matter and shall be pursued with the govt and GEJAF will be apprised in due course.
The Forum was represented by Ganesh Khajuria, Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Subhash Verma, Ashish Sharma, Surat Singh Toofani, Rajesh Jamwal, Mohd Mushtaq and Uttam Kumar.
