CUJ’s BIS Club raises awareness on BIS activities, standard writing competition

JAMMU, Nov 4: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Club of the Central University of Jammu organized an event here at the Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium of the varsity to raise awareness about the BIS activities and standard writing competition.
A statement said that the event was organised under the mentorship of Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, Prof Sanjeev Jain.
Dr Sujata Kundan, Coordinator, BIS Club, CUJ, welcomed t he delegates, including the resources person Niraj Kumar Mishra, Assistant Director, BIS Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office. Prof Yashwant Singh, Registrar, and Prof Ritu Bakshi, Dean Student Welfare CUJ, also addressed the event.
Niraj Kumar Mishra provided detailed information about BIS standards, consumer rights, and the process of setting standards.
The event included a question-and-answer session between the resource person and the students of BIS Club. An innovative standard writing competition was also organized to help students understand how standards are set and how BIS works.
The event aimed to educate youth about BIS activities, standardization, and mark certification. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Sujata Kundan, Assistant Professor and BIS Coordinator at the Central University of Jammu.
