JAMMU, Nov 5: Rotary Club Helping Hands Jammu collaborated with IIT Jammu to organise a guest lecture for the students of IIT Jammu on Sunday.
A statement said that renowned clinical psychologist Rtn Dr Padmakshi Lokesh, who has received numerous national awards, delivered the lecture to the students at IIT Jammu campus in Jagti that focused on the topic of “Digital Detox & Managing Distractions.”
Rhythma, a student of IIT, delivered the welcome address for the event. The function was presided over and coordinated by the President of the Rotary Club Jammu, Rtn Karuna Gupta.

Gupta, respectively, along with other club members, Dr Prem Sharma and Vandana Sharma, were instrumental in organizing the event.
During her address, Dr Padmakshi emphasized the importance of drawing a clear line between distractions and one’s goals, emphasizing the need for “digital detoxification” while maintaining mental balance.
She highlighted the potential harmful effects of modern digital distractions, such as “PUBG” and emotional interactions, one the intelligence of young minds.
Dr Padmakshi also provided various psychological corrective measures and stressed the significance of strong willpower and guidance from parents and teachers.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Rtn Karuna Gupta, the President of the Rotary Club, who expressed deep appreciation for Dr Padmakshi’s valuable psychological insights.
She also extended sincere gratitude to the IIT administration and students for their active participation, making the session highly fruitful.
